General tso’s chicken are very popular in the US and Canada, it’s enormously popular in America’s Chinese restaurants, But you might be surprised to learn that General Tso’s chicken is actually not very big in China. General Tso’s chicken is damn delicious, It’s simply deep fried chicken fillet with thick sweet salty spicy sauce. How great would a homemade version of General Tso's, with a flavor that shows some a texture that takes that crisp--juicy-center balance to the extreme be? Just follow this recipe
Ingredients:
400 grams of boneless skiness chicken breast, cut medium stick long
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
3 cloves of garlic, slice thin
1 1/2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoons of chili sauce
1/2 teaspoons of soy sauce, low sodium preferred
1/2 teaspoons of cheyenne pepper
1/8 teaspoons of salt
1/2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoons of sesame oil
1/2 cup of chicken stock
1/2 teaspoons of potato starch, mixed with 2 tablespoons of water
100 grams of broccoli, cut per cluster and boiled for 5 minutes
Direction :
1. Marinade the cut boneless chicken in mixture of lemon juice and soy sauce, turn with fingers to coat thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap refrigerate for 1 hour. Take the chicken out from fridge after 1 hour.
2. Mix the flour, rice flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Put in all of the chicken and cover evenly with flour mix, toss with hands, pressing dry mixture onto chicken so it adheres, and making sure that every piece is coated thoroughly, take the chicken out and tap out the excess flour. One by one, dip the chicken in the cold water and then put it back into the flour mix to be covered evenly again. Take out the chicken and tap the excess flour.
3. Heat the oil in medium in a deep frying pan. When it’s hot enough, fry the chicken for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown. Sieve the excess oil well.
4. Heat vegetable oil in frying pan on medium. Saute the garlic until fragrant. Pour in the tomato sauce, chili sauce, sugar, cheyenne pepper, salt, sesame oil, chicken stock. Bring it to boil. When it’s boiled, pour in potato starch water and stir well until it gets thicker. Put in the chicken fries and mix well for 20 seconds.
5. Remove out the chicken from the pan and transfer to a plate.
6. Serve with the boiled broccoli on the side of the chicken.
